MERO Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (MAP) is committed to protecting the privacy of your personal data. This policy is in accordance to the Personal Data Protection Act and sets out a basis which MAP may collect, use, disclose or otherwise process personal data of our customers. All personal information shall be kept strictly confidential. Please read through the privacy policy to help you understand how any of your personal information you have provided shall be used.
Collection, Use and Disclosure of Personal Data:
Depending on the nature of your interaction with us, MAP may collect and use your personal data such as name, contact information (i.e. email address, telephone number), education or employment information for any or all of the following purposes:
- To verify your identity;
- To respond to, handle and process your queries, requests, feedback and job application via Careers Form;
- To perform obligations in the course of or in connection with our provision of the goods and/or services requested by you;
- To inform you of other products and services available; and
- Any other incidental business purposes related to or in connection with the above.
MAP may also collect certain information about your computer hardware and software. This information may include: IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses.
MAP may disclose your personal data where such disclosure is necessary to perform obligations in the course of or in connection with our provision of the goods or services you requested. Information may also be disclosed to Third Parties where necessary to perform any of the purposes stated above.
It is important to note that under the Second Schedule of the PDPA Section 1(b), MAP may collect personal data about an individual without any consent of the individual or from a source other than the individual for the following circumstance whereby the collection is necessary to respond to an emergency that threatens the life, health or safety of the individual or other individuals.
Withdrawal of Consent:
The consent that you provided for the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data shall remain valid until such time that you request to withdraw in writing to the Data Protection Officer via email. Upon receipt of this request, we may need a reasonable amount of time to process your request. While we respect your decision to withdraw your consent, please note that depending on the nature and scope of said request, we may not be in a position to continue to provide the goods or services to you and we shall, in such circumstances, notify you before completing the process of withdrawal. Please allow us ten (10) business days from the date of receipt of your request to revert back to you.
Accuracy, Access and Correction of Personal Data:
Upon and at the time of collection of your personal data, we trust that you or your authorized representative(s) had provided us with the correct and accurate information. In at any time that that you may have some changes to your personal data; please update us by writing to the Data Protection Officer.
If you wish to request access to the information which we hold or about the ways in which we use or disclose your personal data; or if you wish to request for correction or updating of your personal data, you may email in your request to the Data Protection Officer. We shall inform you of any applicable and reasonable fees required before we process your request. The processing time may take up to thirty (30) days. Should we fail to respond within the time frame, we shall inform you as soon as possible of the time we will be able to provide access. The only exemption is when we are not required to do so under PDPA.
Protection of Personal Data:
We strive to protect the security of your personal data. To safeguard your information from unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks, we have ensured that the Data Protection Officer is the only authorized and designated person. We have also instituted appropriate administrative, physical and technical measures such as up-to-date antivirus protection, encryption and the use of privacy filters to secure storage and transmission internally and to our authorized third-party service providers only on a need to know basis.
Retention of Personal Data:
Your personal data will be retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected or as required and/or permitted by applicable laws. We will cease the retention of your personal information, or remove the means by which the data can be associated with you as soon as it is reasonable to assume that such retention no longer serves its purpose and is no longer necessary for any legal or business purposes.
Transfer of Personal Data outside of Singapore:
Your personal data will not be transferred or shared to countries outside of Singapore. However, should the need arises and within reason, we shall obtain your consent before the transfer and will ensure that safety measures are implemented to ensure the highest standard of protection mandated by PDPA and similar regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Effect of Notice and Changes to Notice:
This notice applies in conjunction with any other notices, contractual clauses and consent clauses that apply in relation to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data by MAP.
This notice may be revised from time to time without any prior notice. Revisions may be identified by referring to the date on which the Notice was last updated. Your continued use of our services constitutes your acknowledgement and acceptance of such changes.
