FACADE SYSTEMS

Tension rod system

This system forms part of a Tensile Structure. This form of construction has become well understood and widespread in large structures in the latter part of the twentieth century.

Tension Structures can span any number of panels over any distance. However, the larger the span, the larger the rods required and the greater the tension forces required to maintain stability and resist the applied loading. It is, therefore, important to ensure that the host structure will be strong enough to withstand the forces imposed on it by the Tension Structure.
